Piko is a somewhat awkward individual who is still learning what it means to be social. Just recently he learned what it means to let loose and have some fun, which is why he can be witnessed saying some outlandish things. He as embraced his sassy self, a side of him that is mostly seen when he is either playful or upset. Fun aside, he still struggles with approaching new people to strike up a chat. Until he feels comfortable around you, he seems tense and unsure of what to say. In these moments he comes off as bland, not really letting what little personality he has show through. He fears rejection and, in most cases, sculpts himself into what he believes other people expect of him. This makes him a very adaptable person. The Piko that you may witness is not the same Piko someone else sees. This becomes a struggle for him when he’s around multiple people at once. It leaves him unsure of how he should act or what to say.
He spent years keeping himself distanced from the rest of the Vocaloids that reside in Voca Manor, only opening up to Miki or Sakurane, his derivative. Piko, being so disconnected, asks a lot of questions when he thinks he doesn’t have the full picture. He’d rather be educated than left unknowing.
When he’s all by his lonesome, Piko is as quiet as can be. He has little to do, little to think about, which leaves him spiraling down into a dark pit of self-hatred as he always ends up focusing in on the negative side of himself. Piko, being a perfectionist, struggles with accepting himself. However, he is also an extremely prideful person, so he masks his self-hatred and often talks big about himself as if he was confident in all that he was. Depression is something that he struggles with. It’s something that came into his life around the time V3 was introduced and hit hard when Ki/oon removed him from sales for awhile. It only recently lightened up when he was available to the public again and people started importing him into their V4 editor. He cherishes those who still decide to use him today despite all the newer Vocaloids that have been introduced.
Ki/oon doesn’t treat him very well. Piko’s caught on to their agenda, milking every drop of money they can get with his existence without making any plans of giving him a brighter future. It’s became a game of tug-of-war with him. They’ll sell him and offer V4 import codes when requested, but that’s all they’re willing to do. He fears that when V5 gets introduced, if it does, that he will finally begin to fade away, forgotten.
Determined to remain the best that he can be for those who still have him installed, Piko has been pushing on to offer all that he can to those around him. His current task is understanding how emotions work and making friends-- but on the side, he can be found tinkering with himself to try and push boundaries that his body and software are just not capable of handling.
His current task is to replace his compromised battery so that he doesn’t have to take two to three naps during the day to recharge-- and, maybe, find a way to not be dependent on his large USB tail.
✧ He does have a battery that keeps him running. It is the main purpose for his USB tail, charging. His battery, however, is in need of replacement since it doesn't hold a charge as long as it used to. This not only plays into his depression, but is a good reason behind his depression naps. Piko acts sluggish and 'laggy' when in need of a recharge and will 'fall asleep' wherever he is if he doesn't reach his charging base in time.
✧ Because of him being outdated, he isn't required to eat. He is, however, capable of doing so. You can see him eating around others who are also eating as an attempt to try and fit in.
✧ Piko has a bad habit of messing with his software. He frequently tries to 'update' himself. Minor changes are often successful, but any major ones that he attempts end him up in tech support for repair. One would think that he is suicidal because of his often mishaps, but he isn't.
✧ He has no control over his USB. It just drags the ground. Given its length, he often ties it loosely around his waist. It has often gotten caught while he was walking around, making him get yanked to the floor. His other tech support trips are because his USB became loose and had its internal wires damaged and he could no longer charge properly.
✧ He is a 'switch'. Neither a top or bottom. This means he can play both roles depending on what his partner wants.
✧ Despite his struggles with emotions, Piko is a loyal and devoted lover. He enjoys feeling wanted and, since he's a perfectionist, tries to be the best that he can be for his partner.
✧ PDA [public displays of affection] makes him uncomfortable.
✧ The LEDs on his legs are actually part of his legs, not his pants. He can control their colour and intensity, but prefers teal for his aesthetic.
✧ My Piko's poor craftsmanship has to do with Kurotane's backstory. Kuro was rejected last minute, leaving Ki/oon a month or so to replace him with Utatane. He was built using parts they had to spare, the better quality ones having been used for Kurotane. He was rushed, thus leaving him struggling today.
I strictly ship with chemistry only. I have my preferred pairings but I won't just hand Piko off carelessly to just any Fukase, Len, etc. A healthy, functioning relationship must be built.
